Austrian Standards, Austrian member of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), honours every year selected companies and institutions for their standardization activities and innovations with the “Living Standards Award”. Out of five award categories Easelink won the Living Standards Award with Matrix Charging® in the category “Developing Future Technologies”.

On the 23rd January 2020, the ceremony for the most important Austrian award for standardization and innovation took place at Austrian Standards in Vienna. Easelink with its developments for the automated conductive charging solution Matrix Charging® received the award in the category “Developing Future Technologies”. The award mainly recognizes Easelinks extraordinary work on the application and development of standards within product development.

To ensure system functionality and safety international standards like ISO 26262 (Automotive Functional Safety) are a core element within the development of Matrix Charging®. Automated charging devices for passenger cars are a cutting-edge technology and not yet sufficiently covered by existing standards. Therefore, it is necessary to create new standards and to adopt existing ones. Easelink is working actively on setting the international standard for automated conductive charging of electric vehicles to enhance an interoperability of vehicles and charging infrastructures with a standardized system.

Austrian Standards - Easelink

Easelink is participating in various standardization bodies for charging technology like International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to reach this goal.

Within the working groups ISO TC 22/SC37 “Electrical propelled vehicles” and of IEC TC 69 “Electrical power/energy transfer systems for EV” as a committee member Easelink actively shares know-how and test results from vehicles in operation with Matrix Charging®.

Additionally, within the CharIN association, Easelink contributed to several activities for automated charging like the collaboration on the position paper about “Automatic Connection Device Interface for automatic conductive charging”, a criteria list, a request for concept and a questionnaire for automatic charging.

Easelink is contributing relevant information and know-how from prototype development and diverse pilot project with leading OEM and vehicle fleets to standardization committees. By gaining many different vehicle requirements and validation cycles, Matrix Charging® proves a universal application. Therefore, Matrix Charging® can be a viable solution in setting a standard for automated conductive charging.

Easelink is a high-tech company headquartered in Graz, Austria, and dedicated to development of the automated conductive charging solution “Matrix Charging®” for electric vehicles. The innovative character of Easelink can be seen in its many patents and trademarks. Easelink, with sites in Austria and China, currently has 45 employees and actively contributes to various standardization bodies for charging technology, such as the relevant working groups of the Charging Interface Initiative (CharIn), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
