EV automation for smart grids.

The MXI project advances Matrix Charging as a key interface for integrating electric vehicles into smart energy systems.

EIC Accelerator

Easelink who’s pioneering automated electric vehicle charging with its Matrix Charging® technology, has been awarded €11.5 million in funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC). This financial support underlines the strategic fit between Easelink’s goal of setting the standard for automated EV charging with the European Union’s objective to drive carbon neutrality by promoting EVs and their integration into a smart energy system.

Easelink succeeded in the most competitive EIC funding round to date. The second phase of the EIC Accelerator closed in October 2024 with 1211 submitted applications, of which 431 (36%) were invited to the jury interviews in Brussels. In the end only 71 companies (16% of 431 interviews / 5,9% of phase 2 / ~3% of phase 1) were funded. Further details can be found in the official EIC statement here.

MXI Project

The overall work plan is to utilize the EIC’s blended finance, grant funding for innovation activities and equity for market deployment, to guide Matrix Charging® from TRL 7 to a fully industrialized, market-ready product (TRL 9).

With EIC contributions R&D and scaling efforts are driven forward, ensuring that Matrix Charging® becomes the global standard for automated conductive charging. Further details can be found here.
